COLONIAL TURF CUP
9) SAILOR’S CAP Alan Garcia; James Toner Will be back for the Virginia Derby. Last 3 starts over the yielding turf. Impressive all the same.
6) NISTLE’S CRUNCH Robby Alvarado; Kenneth McPeek Might have had the lead for only a moment. Ran second, all the way around the track
3) YOUR ROUND James Lopez; Mark Hubley Longest shot on the board ran well late but was out of the race early.
2) COURT VISION Garrett Gomez; Bill Mott Had a clear shot after moving through traffic at the top of the lane.
10) ADRIANO Edgar Prado; Bill Mott Edgar had him in the right place but didn’t appear to like the surface.
5) BALTIMORE BOB Horatio Karamanos; Carlos Garcia Ran even with Adriano up the backstretch, moved with him on the turn but didn’t like the tight quarters at the head of the lane.
1) EL SULTRY SUN Elbar Coa; John Kimmel Moved with the eventual winner but couldn’t stayed with him out of the turn.
4) SPORTING ART Javier Castellano; Christophe Clemente Just doesn’t appear to be running as well as he was earlier this spring.
8) BOSS LAFITTE Julien Lepareaux; Thomas Amoss Would have been a larger threat if the race was pulled off the turf.
7) KENTUCKY BEAR Elvis Trujillo; Reade Baker Did his Kip D’ville impersonation early and appeared to be in good shape. Ran the 3rd quarter in :27 and still had the lead. No troubled trip here.
